What's open to US creators right now
The US is one of the few countries where every major short-video program is live, which is good news, but it also means the most competition. Here's where things stand as of October 2026, based on each platform's official help pages. Check the current terms before you plan around them, because they change often.
TikTok Creator Rewards Program: available in the US. You need a personal account (business accounts don't qualify), to be at least 18, and to have 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Only original videos over 1 minute long count, they need at least 1,000 For You views, Duets, Stitches and Photo Mode don't qualify, and TikTok asks for 1080p or higher. You apply from TikTok Studio.
YouTube Partner Program: available in the US in two tiers. From 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days and either 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days, you unlock fan funding (memberships, Super Thanks, Super Chat) and Shopping. Ad revenue sharing, including the Shorts feed, starts at 1,000 subscribers plus either 10 million Shorts views in 90 days or 4,000 long-form watch hours in 12 months.
Facebook and Instagram: Facebook's content monetization program pays for Reels, photos, text posts and Stories, but it's invite-only for now. You can register interest from the Professional Dashboard under Monetization. Instagram's bonuses come and go and aren't open to everyone, so on Instagram, affiliate links and brand deals tend to be more predictable.
Beyond platform payouts: affiliate links, TikTok Shop and brand deals
Platform payouts are only one route, and for most new channels they're not the first one to pay off. In the US you also have some of the most mature affiliate programs anywhere, and they don't make you hit a follower count first.
Amazon Associates is the obvious starting point for recommendation niches like tech, kitchen gear, books or travel essentials: you share a link and earn a commission on qualifying purchases. TikTok Shop is also live in the US, so you can tag products in your videos and earn a commission through its affiliate program; the eligibility thresholds are set in the app and change regularly.
Brand deals come once you have a clearly defined audience. A small account about national parks or personal finance can be more interesting to the right brand than a big channel with no focus. Whatever the deal, label it as a paid partnership using the platform's tool and say it out loud or on screen, too.
And the route with the most control is your own product: a newsletter, a printable budget template, a guide to road-tripping the Southwest. It doesn't depend on any program's changes, and many channels end up combining two or three of these routes.
FTC disclosures, AI labels and original content
In the US, the FTC expects you to disclose any material connection to a brand: being paid, getting free products or having a family or business tie. The disclosure has to be hard to miss. In a video that means saying it or showing it on screen, not just a #ad buried at the end of the caption, and the FTC says you can't rely on a platform's built-in tool alone. Affiliate links need a disclosure too.
Every platform can also exclude unoriginal, repetitive or mass-produced content from its programs: dozens of near-identical videos, templates with only the text swapped, or other people's clips. Using AI isn't the problem; posting without any judgment is. Your part is the angle, the topic choice, fact-checking every script and keeping a series with its own identity.
When a platform asks you to label AI-generated or AI-altered content (YouTube, TikTok and Meta each have their own option for it), do it. The posting kit Vaideo creates for every video includes that reminder so it doesn't slip through.
A US content calendar that keeps a faceless channel busy
The easiest way to never run out of ideas is to tie your series to the calendar. In the fall: football season trivia, the real story behind Halloween, Thanksgiving history and Black Friday buying guides (perfect for affiliate links). In winter: New Year's money resets, Super Bowl stats and ad history, Presidents' Day facts.
Spring brings March Madness, tax season explainers (keep them general and add a disclaimer) and Memorial Day history. Summer is national parks, road trips, Fourth of July facts and back-to-school tech. Each season repeats every year, so a strong series keeps finding new viewers.
Evergreen series fill the gaps: 50 states in 50 episodes, presidents ranked by weird facts, inventions that changed American life, animals you'll only find in North America. Vaideo's Series feature suggests each new episode without repeating topics, with the same voice and style across the whole channel.
How Vaideo fits in, and what it costs in dollars
You type an idea and Vaideo writes the script, narrates it with an AI voice (11 languages, including English and Spanish), finds stock photos and video clips that match and builds the video in 9:16 or 16:9 with word-by-word animated captions. It takes about 2 to 6 minutes. It doesn't create its own animation or 3D and AI fiction is limited, so it shines with facts, history and explainers.
The Free plan gives you 1 video a day, up to 30 seconds, in 720p with a watermark, which is enough to test a niche on Shorts and Reels. For TikTok's program you need videos over 1 minute in 1080p, so you'll want a one-time pack: 5 videos for €5 (about US$5.60), 15 for €12 (about $13.45) or 40 for €25 (about $28), each up to 5 minutes, 1080p, no watermark. Unlimited is €39 a month (about $43.70): unlimited videos (fair use), up to 10 minutes, no queue, and AutoPilot to publish to YouTube automatically.
Prices are in euros; checkout shows the approximate amount in US dollars (rate as of October 15, 2026, and your bank's may differ slightly). There's no direct upload to TikTok, Instagram or Facebook: you download the MP4 and post it yourself with the posting kit. Whatever you spend is a production cost, and there's no honest way to promise you'll earn it back.

Tips that make the difference
- ★Pick a niche you can fact-check yourself: that's your share of the originality.
- ★Tie your series to the US calendar (football season, holidays, summer road trips) so you always know what's next.
- ★For TikTok's program, make videos over 1 minute in 1080p; for Shorts and Reels, shorter often holds attention better.
- ★Hook in the first second: test the kit's alternative hooks and keep whichever holds viewers longest.
- ★Adapt titles and hashtags to each network instead of pasting the same caption everywhere.
- ★Disclose paid partnerships and affiliate links in the video itself, not just the caption, as the FTC expects.
- ★Recheck the official requirements every few months; they change more often than you'd think.

Frequently asked questions
Is the TikTok Creator Rewards Program available in the US?+
Yes. As of October 2026, TikTok lists the US among the countries where the program is open. You need a personal account, to be 18+, and 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Only original videos over 1 minute count.
How much can you make from short videos in the US?+
It depends on the niche, the platform, the route (payouts, affiliate, brand deals) and the audience you build, and the programs change their terms often. We don't promise any number, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
Do I need to show my face to get monetized?+
No. None of the platforms require it; they ask for an audience, original content and following their rules. Plenty of trivia, history and science channels run on narration and imagery alone, which is exactly what Vaideo makes.
Can AI-made videos be monetized?+
Platforms don't ban AI as such, but they can exclude unoriginal or repetitive content and ask you to label AI-generated content in some cases. Review every video, bring your own angle and read their official rules.
Do I have to disclose affiliate links and sponsorships?+
Yes. The FTC expects a clear disclosure whenever you're paid, get free products or earn a commission, and it needs to be in the video, not only in the caption. Use the platform's paid partnership label too.
What does Vaideo cost in US dollars?+

What's in the posting kit?+
For each video: a title, description and hashtags tailored to TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Facebook, alternative hooks to test, a pinned comment and a reminder to label AI content where required.
