Structure of an ad video that works with the sound off
Short video ads have a classic direct-response structure: a hook (1-3 s) that names the audience or the problem, the problem in one line, the solution (your product and its main benefit), proof (how it works, a guarantee, a reason to believe) and a clear call to action. All in 15-30 seconds.
The hook is the variable most worth testing: a question (“Does your back hurt by the end of the workday?”), a counterintuitive statement or a concrete benefit. Meta advises designing for sound-off viewing, so the message should land from the captions alone, which Vaideo burns into the video.
Mention the brand or product early and repeat the offer at the end. One message per ad: if you have three benefits, make three ads.
Using Vaideo to produce and test creatives
Vaideo produces one video per prompt. To test, write a base prompt with product, audience and offer, then duplicate it changing only the hook or angle (price, convenience, fear of missing out). A pack gives you 5, 15 or 40 videos to use whenever you like and the Unlimited plan unlimited videos (fair use), so you can generate several versions and let Ads Manager tell you which performs.
Images come from free libraries or are AI-generated, and you can replace any scene's image. Still, they aren't pictures of your product: Vaideo fits ads for services, apps, courses, content or products whose benefit can be shown with generic visuals. For physical-product ecommerce it usually works best as a problem-and-context video that complements creatives showing the real product.
There are no avatars or people talking to camera, so it doesn't make testimonial-style UGC ads. It doesn't add music either; if you want some, add your own track in Vaideo Editor (free) before uploading.
Formats, placements and Meta policies
Vaideo exports 9:16, the native format for Reels and Stories on Facebook and Instagram. In feed, Meta usually shows vertical videos cropped, so keep the key message centered. There's no 1:1 or 4:5 export.
You're responsible for what the ad says. Avoid claims you can't back up, especially in health, weight loss, finance or income, where Meta is strict. Employment, housing, credit, and social or political ads must run in their special ad category. Also check whether Meta asks you to disclose AI-generated or altered imagery.
Ready-to-use prompts
“20-second ad for a budgeting app aimed at freelancers. Hook: “Hit tax season with no idea what you owe?” Problem, solution, CTA: “Try it free for 14 days.””
Audience, hook, structure and offer in one prompt give a test-ready script.
Use this prompt →“Same app, audience and CTA, different hook: “3 expenses most freelancers forget to deduct.” 20 seconds.”
Changing only the hook shows which variable moves results. Avoid promising specific savings you can't justify.
Use this prompt →“25-second ad for an online smartphone photography course. Open on the problem (dark, blurry photos), then 2 course benefits, and close with the launch offer.”
A service or course is easy to illustrate with generic images of the problem and the outcome.

Step by step
- 1
Define product, audience and offer
Write a prompt with the hook-problem-solution-CTA structure and a 15-30 second length, or paste your landing page URL.
- 2
Pick 9:16 and a style
Vertical format for Reels and Stories, language, style (Real photo or Cinematic usually work) and, optionally, AI-generated images.
- 3
Generate and adjust
In a few minutes you have the video. Replace images that don't fit and make sure the script makes no promises you can't keep.
- 4
Create hook variants
Rerun the same prompt changing only the hook to get 3-5 versions to test.
- 5
Upload to Ads Manager
Download the MP4s (with a pack: 1080p, no watermark) and upload them to your Meta campaign to compare results.
Tips that make the difference
- ★Use a pack for ads: no watermark and 1080p.
- ★Test hooks, not details: change one variable per version.
- ★Name the audience or problem in the first line.
- ★End with a specific CTA that matches the ad button.
- ★Don't promise health, money or weight-loss results you can't prove.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a Facebook ad video be?+
For Reels and Stories, short 15-30 second ads are the norm: enough for hook, benefit and CTA. Your tests decide, not a fixed rule.
Does Vaideo export 1:1 or 4:5 for feed?+
No, it exports 9:16 and 16:9. 9:16 works in Reels and Stories and Meta can show it cropped in feed; keep the message centered.
Can I make UGC ads with Vaideo?+
Not in the sense of a person talking to camera: there are no avatars. Vaideo makes narrated videos with images and captions; if you film your own clips, you can add them afterwards in Vaideo Editor (free).
Will the ad comply with Meta's policies?+
That depends on what it says, which is the advertiser's responsibility. Review the script, avoid unprovable claims and use a special ad category when it applies.
Can I use the images in advertising?+
Unsplash images are free for commercial use; some Wikimedia images may require attribution. Avoid making a person in a stock photo look like they endorse your product.
Can I narrate the ad in other languages?+
Narration is available in English and Spanish, with one natural AI voice per language. There's no accent selection.
How much does it cost?+
For ads, paying makes sense: 1080p and no watermark. One-off packs that never expire (5 videos for €5, 15 for €12, 40 for €25): each video up to 5 min in 1080p with no watermark. Unlimited (€39/month): unlimited videos (fair use) up to 10 min, no queue, with direct YouTube upload and AutoPilot. The Free plan (1 video/day up to 30 s, 720p with watermark) is for trying it.
